Ski-Navi

Navigational aid for skiers

Designed by Max Dougall

Ski-Navi is a pair of ski goggles designed with the intent to improve the skiing experience. Through LEDs on the set of goggles Ski-Navi provides visual cues to the wearer allowing them to ski uninterrupted. The goggles connect to your smartphone with bluetooth allowing the user to personalise their skiing experiences by choosing set routes suited to their ability.

Many different design iterations were considered, as my goals for what I wanted the goggles to be changed throughout the process. Eventually, two main goals on top of the navigational aspect were considered with the final design in mind, the goggles had to increase the users FOV as much as possible and allow the user to change the lens. By altering the thickness of the goggles frame where they would rest against the users nose/cheeks also redesigning the ventilation system for the goggles and including magnetic connections for the lens the two goals were met in the final design.
