Q_BIT

The collaborative music streaming controller.

Streaming has made music discovery easier, but current sharing methods in social settings remain inconvenient. While smartphones can stream via Bluetooth, they aren’t suited for group use. They are often locked, busy, or in use - creating a bottleneck for guest participation. Calls and notifications further disrupt the shared listening experience by lowering volume or pausing playback.

Q_BIT eliminates these issues by serving as a device solely dedicated to collaborative streaming. It allows users to search, queue and play music from a streaming service. Its portable size and satisfying haptic qualities make it well suited for social functions, helping to better democratise music sharing and listening.

The device’s interface prioritises ease and speed for navigating the streaming environment. The coloured triggers on the side of its enclosure allow users to quickly swap between the search, queue and play modes. Meanwhile, the jogwheel, located on the controller’s front, enables browsing and selection of tracks.
