OrbiTales

Storytelling Made for the Journey

Designed by Enrique Kurniawan

Orbitales is a modular, screen-free storytelling toy designed for children aged 3+ to enjoy imaginative play during long-haul travel. It uses four magnetic dice that let kids select a character, setting, object, and theme. When placed into the main module, Orbitales detects the combination and plays a matching audio story.

For example, if the child selects fox–mountain–treasure–laughing face, they’ll hear a funny story about a fox discovering treasure in the mountains. This hands-on, intuitive interaction empowers children to shape their own adventures while nurturing imagination and narrative thinking.

Orbitales includes a secure locking mechanism, child-friendly controls, built-in speaker, and rechargeable battery, ideal for independent use on the go. Designed with input from parents, children, and educators, and developed through prototyping, electronics testing, and manufacturing simulations, the toy is joyful, durable, and developmentally supportive.
